The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Accreditation who functions as a member of the accreditation unit and assists the Director in the management of all aspects of the accreditation process.  This includes ensuring that all applications are processed in a timely manner from receipt to the final Board review and decision.
Position Description:

The Assistant Director will provide guidance to programs throughout the review process, ensure that programs have access to appropriate information concerning due dates, and ensure that accreditation maintenance requirements are met, through the following tasks:

  1. Works with the Vice President of Accreditation and Training to ensure that CACREP’s accreditation process is conducted in accordance with CACREP’s policies and procedures.
  2. Manages all aspects of the accreditation process with diplomacy, collegiality, and discipline.
  3. Consults regularly with the Vice President of Accreditation and Training and other members of the accreditation team concerning accreditation and training issues.
  4. Works with the accreditation team to upgrade procedures and record keeping of the various review levels.
  5. Provides guidance to programs prior to and throughout the accreditation review.
  6. Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports pertaining to reviews, materials,

program-related questions, and other information necessary for maintenance and continual improvement of the review process.

  1. Works with the Vice President of Accreditation and Training and other members of the accreditation team to prepare review materials for the CACREP Board of Directors’ meetings and to develop written correspondence of accreditation decision.
  2. Assists in the development training sessions and materials.
  3. Travels occasionally to deliver content relevant to training sessions.

  2. Strong analytical skills
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  4. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  5. Highly organized and detail oriented
  6. Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and responsibilities
  7. Cultural awareness and ability to adapt easily in a variety of environments
  8. Preferred qualifications include a background in counseling, accreditation, or higher education; knowledge of student learning outcomes in higher education; understanding of multiple training strategies; and technological expertise.
