Status Information

The specialty area was found to substantially meet the standards with some minor standards-related deficiencies for which the Board requires further information. Additional information is required for the following standards:

1.K – The Counselor Education Program needs to report back on efforts to recruit and retain a diverse student group.

1.M – The institution needs to ensure that a majority of courses offered are taught by core faculty..

1.O – The Counselor Education Program needs to address student retention policies and practices.

1.Q – The Counselor Education Program needs to report back on efforts to recruit and retain a diverse faculty group.

3.P – The Counselor Education Program needs to address site supervisor qualifications.

4.A – The Counselor Education Program needs to address the systematic evaluation plan.

4.B – The Counselor Education Program needs to address evaluation of program objectives.

Program History

The Community Counseling program was initially accredited in March 1992 and has maintained its accreditation. It became a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in July 2015.
