- Student Affairs and College Counseling
- Counselor Education and Supervision
There are some variations in the program areas and program area titles between the 2001 and 2009 Standards. The 2001 Standards included the following program areas: career counseling; college counseling; community counseling; gerontological counseling; marital, couple, and family counseling/therapy, mental health counseling; school counseling, student affairs; and, counselor education and supervision. Programs that received accreditation under the 2001 Standards remain accredited under those Standards through their entire accreditation cycle. CACREP policies stipulate that programs must use program titles that accurately convey the program area for which accreditation is conferred and must display integrity and responsibility when publishing accredited status. Therefore, where program titles have changed, programs should clearly communicate the program area that is accredited and the Standards under which accreditation was conferred.
