2020-2021 Leadership Essay Contest: Co-sponsored by CACREP and CSI
For the seventh year, CACREP and Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) have co-sponsored a Leadership Essay Contest. Our two organizations have a strong history of mutual support and cooperative relationships, with a dual focus on enhancing the counseling profession through recognition of excellence in our field.
For the 2020-2021 Leadership Essay Contest, participants were invited to respond to the following question, as well as the associated secondary questions, about the current global pandemic.
How do you see the COVID-19 pandemic changing the landscape of the counseling profession?
- In what ways can CSI and CACREP help professional counselors and counselor educators to learn from the pandemic and improve both in-person and telemental health services?
- How can counselor education programs ensure the integrity of the profession while also encouraging safe service delivery within local communities during these uncertain times?
- What cultural and ethical considerations do CACREP and CSI need to consider related to the delivery of online, hybrid, and in-person counseling and supervision?
