October 2016 Announcement

As part of the merger agreement between the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the two organizations have appointed a special task force to explore and recommend how disability concepts will be infused into CACREP’s 8 common core curricular areas in its next revision.  Click here for the full press release.

April 2016 Announcement

At the spring conference of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) held in Newport Beach, California, CACREP and its affiliate CORE announced plans to accept one final round of applications from CORE-accredited programs that wish to seek dually-accredited status as both a Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.  Click here for the full press release.

October 2015 Announcement

As part of the merger agreement between the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), doctoral level programs in rehabilitation counselor education (RCE) that prepare faculty to teach in vocational and clinical rehabilitation counseling programs are now being offered an opportunity to seek CACREP accreditation under an expedited process.  Click here for the full press release.
