Program History

In July 2017, the Board approved the dual accreditation (CMHC/CLRC) through the CACREP/CORE conversion process. Prior to that date, Hunter College had a Rehabilitation Counseling program accredited by CORE since 1978. The dually-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling specialization was a limited-time option offered by CACREP. Hunter College has transitioned that specialty area to Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, which is CACREP-accredited.
