The Master of Science in Education – Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Buena Vista University (BVU) is a 60-credit, CACREP-accredited degree designed to prepare the next generation of counseling professionals. Rooted in nationally recognized standards and best practices, our program is innovative, accessible, and centered on your growth as a future counselor.

Delivered primarily online, courses are offered in 7.5-week sessions, giving you the flexibility to balance your education with work and life commitments—without sacrificing quality or support. In addition, you’ll participate in two four-day, in-person residency experiences, where you’ll sharpen your skills under the guidance of expert faculty and build meaningful connections with your peers.

At BVU, we are committed to preparing ethically grounded, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed counselors who promote well-being across the lifespan. Our graduates empower individuals and families, advocate for social change, and make lasting contributions to the counseling profession.

We invite you to take the next step in your journey and join a community where you will be challenged, supported, and inspired to make a difference.
