Our 60-semester-hour Master of Science degree program provides self-explorative, curricular and extracurricular experiences, personal development of essential dispositions, as well as supervised practicum and internships that prepare graduates to counsel in a variety of settings, such as community mental health, not for profit agencies, health care organizations, substance abuse treatment centers, business and industry, and private practice . This program meets the educational requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor in Missouri and for National Counselor Certification. Our program is dedicated to developing a culturally diverse student population and to draw students from local, regional, national, and international locations.

The Community Counseling program was initially accredited in July 2010 and has maintained its accreditation. In January 2016, the Community Counseling program was converted to a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.
