Our mental health program prepares counselors to work in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings such as independent practice, community agencies, managed behavioral health care settings, hospitals, employee assistance programs, and substance abuse treatment centers. Mental health counselors are trained to provide a full range of services such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, overview of types of interventions for individual, group, and family counseling, addictions related assessments and interventions, prevention programs, and crisis and disaster related management and interventions.

Program History
The Community Counseling program was first accredited in March 1982 and maintained it accreditation until it reapplied as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and was accredited in July 2012.
