The clinical mental health counseling concentration area prepares students for counseling positions in various community based agencies such as mental health centers, private counseling agencies, substance abuse treatment facilities, centers for counseling the elderly, children, and families, business and industry. The Community Counseling program was initially accredited in May 1995 and maintained its accreditation. It became a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in January 2011.
