The community counseling program prepares professionals for counseling positions in higher education, rehabilitation hospitals, medical centers, mental health agencies, industry, private practice, and other community settings. The course of study meets the core requirements for the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is currently transitioning to a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

Program History
The Community Counseling program was initially accredited in April 1999 and has maintained its accreditation. It became a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in July 2014.
