The Ph.D. program in Counselor Education is designed to prepare students for professional positions as faculty members, administrators, researchers, supervisors, and consultants at the highest degree of expertise. The advanced coursework and intensive supervision help students develop knowledge and skills required of doctoral-level practitioners. The degree includes a minimum of 60 hours beyond the master’s degree, plus 12 hours of dissertation credit. A master’s degree in counseling is required for admission to the program.
