Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
The Virginia Tech Counselor Education Ph.D. program prepares students to function as counselor educators, clinical supervisors, or advanced clinicians, through coursework, research, and practical training. Students are required to complete 100 hours of advanced study beyond the undergraduate degree. Further doctoral students complete advanced practica or internships in Teaching, Clinical Supervision, and/or Clinical Practice. Doctoral students in the Virginia Tech program have access to the latest instructional technologies, work closely with the faculty, and often collaborate on research, publications, and conference presentations.
