Argosy University Sarasota / Tampa

The Counselor Education and Supervision (CES)program is designed to help students prepare for the future of professional counselor education. By 2013, a CES degree from a CACREP- accredited program will be required for an individual to teach in CACREP-accredited counseling and counseling-related programs. The CES program offers advanced training for counselors who want to work in academic settings and/or to provide supervision for counselors.of quality services.

The CES program at Argosy University offers a broad range of training experiences in supervision, teaching, clinical practice and research that:

Empowers you to actualize your vision in shaping and leading the profession;

Prepares you to be a trainer, supervisor and mentor of the new generaton of counselors;

Strenthens your clinical skills and the application of research and theories into your practice;

Facilitates your career as an advanced-level practitioner and supervisor; and

Enables you to be a well-rounded scholar and to teach in counseling-related programs.

Program faculty are dedicated to mentoring students and enhancing their professional and personal development. They are recognized practitioners who bring their experiences, diverse expertise and cultural backgrounds to the program. In addition to their contributions at Argosy University, they are engaged in a wide range of professional, leadership, and scholarly activities in counseling-related organizations.

A variety of flexible formats designed for the convenience of adult students are offered. Regular in-residence, blended/in-residence, and online formats are offered in 7.5-week and 15-week terms.

Program History

In July 2015, Argosy University Sarasota was approved to offer their Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education and Supervision programs at the Tampa site. The Sarasota campus was closed in December 2018. At that time, the Clinical Mental Health and Counselor Education and Supervision specialty areas previously listed as accredited under Argosy University Sarasota with the Tampa campus as a delivery site will be listed as accredited solely under Argosy University Tampa.
