Students in the Marriage & Family Counseling Program will develop knowledge in the core areas as well as an understanding of the Christian faith as it pertains to clients that they may counsel. They will demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to assess couple and family function/dysfunction and join the respective relational system using interventions to create therapeutic change. This will be accomplished by working within a framework of theoretical and ethical guidelines while remaining aware of social, cultural, sexual, and religious factors which impact the relational system. A 100-hour practicum and 600-hour internship are required. (60-credit program)
