The faculty of the school counseling master’s program at Kansas State University are committed to preparing professional school counselors to be knowledgeable, ethical, caring decision makers. The program’s mission is to prepare professional school counselors to effectively implement comprehensive school counseling programs to address students’ academic/learning, career, and social emoti0nal mental health needs. In addition, the program strives to prepare professional school counselors who are leaders in schools and the profession. The program’s courses and experiences prepare professional school counselors to contribute to student development and learning, guidance and counseling of students, and theory-driven and research-guided practice.

Program History
The transition from an M.S. degree to an Ed.S. degree was approved in January 2023.
