Kean University’s Master of Arts in School Counseling, is designed to prepare students for the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) Standard Educational Services Certificate with a school counselor endorsement for preschool through grade 12. The program provides students with robust experiential training in both elementary and secondary schools through supervised practicums and internships. Graduates emerge as scholar-practitioners with strong counseling, research, and advocacy skills to foster the academic, career, and social-emotional development of students while championing the wellness of diverse school communities.

The Department of Counselor Education at Kean University prepares students for professional practice as effective counselors with strong clinical, research, and advocacy skills.
