The School Track of the UVM Counseling Program prepares students to understand and be competent in their role as professional counselors who work in the school setting. To this end, training emphasizes intentional practice, diversity and social justice issues, classroom and counseling group work in schools, and to follow a comprehensive developmental model of practice. The intent is to prepare students to be facilitators of growth and change for individuals, groups, and schools. The School Counseling track is a 48 credit-hour program, leading to a Master’s of Science degree and meeting the educational requirements for State licensure in School Counseling.
