The School Counseling Program at Georgia Southern University consists of 48 semester hours, 9 of the hours are required practicum and internship field experiences.The School Counseing Program prepares individuals for employment as counselors in public school settings at elementary, middle/junior and high school levels. The school counseling program is comprehensive and developmental in nature and is designed to be integral to a school’s total educational plan. The program focuses on the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of interventions and strategies that meet the diverse social, emotional and academic needs of children and adolescents in multicultural society.
