The graduate program in School Counseling is designed to give adequate breadth and depth of training to prepare K-12 school counselors. As a result of this program, the student should become sensitive to the needs of diverse students and competent in designing and executing a comprehensive developmental program designed to promote academic success for all. Students will learn the National School Model and School Counseling Standards set forth by the American School Counseling Association and adopted by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

This program is also recognized by IRCEP (International Affiliate of CACREP) and demonstrates commitment to the Counselling profession and adherence to the rigorous international recognition review process meeting the highest international Principles of Quality Assurance and Professional Standards essential to the education and training of Counsellors.
