Indiana University South Bend

The School Counseling program at Indiana University South Bend is well established in the northern region of Indiana. Students earn a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Counseling and Human Services with a concentration in School Counseling. This 60-credit program is designed to prepare graduates to work with P–12 students, families, educators, and other stakeholders in school settings. Upon completion, graduates must pass the required Praxis examination and are then eligible to apply for licensure as professional school counselors in Indiana.

The program includes coursework in the common counseling core as well as specialized school counseling content and follows a cohort model in which students progress through the program with a group of peers. Designed to accommodate working professionals, courses are offered in the evenings and in online or hybrid formats. The program can be completed in as little as three years of full-time study, including summer coursework.
