Those wishing to work in school settings can seek the M.Ed. degree in Professional Counseling with specialty emphasis in School Counseling. Completion of this CACREP accredited 48-hour program meets one of the requirements for initial professional certification in Georgia as a school counselor. Graduates also meet the academic requirements for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia and certification by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). The program includes coursework in individual and group counseling, and effective use of data to facilitate learning for all children.
