The school counseling program is a national standards based urban school counseling program. Our students typically range across inner city, suburban and private schools in their field experiences. The program is highly experiential and almost every course has clinical or laboratory experiences in it every class meeting. Therefore, this is not a degree you can get in your pajamas! Our students average score on the ETS Praxis school specialty exam is in the 66%ile nationally and no student has failed that exam since its inception as alicensing requirement inTennessee. A CACREP accreditation teammemeer characteized our porgram as”passionate ” aboout whatit does. Those are the kinds of students we are looking for who like to work hard and hav efun whilethey are doing it.
