The School Counseling program, a 60-credit-hour M.A. degree (accredited by CACREP), provides core academic courses, specialized school counseling training, and practicum and internship designed to meet the educational requirements for licensure as a School Counselor (K-12) in Ohio. Walsh graduates work in elementary, middle school and secondary schools in public and private settings where they provide a range of services including: individual and group counseling, classroom guidance, and specialized activities and programs designed to help students achieve academic, career, and personal/ social success in school. School Counselors also provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents, and provide leadership in organizing developmental guidance experiences in schools.
