Western Washington University, College of Humanities and Social Sciences

This is a two-year (6 quarter) full-time program with fall enrollment only. Students progress through the program in cohort groups of six. Our emphasis is upon the development of counseling skills and applications to school settings. Individual and family practicum courses are completed in a program clinic where students see community child and adult clients. Group practicum is conducted in schools. Faculty supervisors observe all sessions live so students are able to complete practicum during their first year. Students are enrolled in internship during the 2nd year, spending three days per week in the schools while completing classes on campus.
